Premium drinks company, Truman & Orange, is supporting SA’s bars by donating R10 per post featuring a Negroni or gin-based cocktail.
Since 2013, bars across the world have celebrated Negroni Week every June while raising money for charitable causes. Now more than ever, we need a drink and we need to support the people behind the bars where we have spent many happy hours pre-Covid-19.
What’s a Negroni?
The Negroni is an Italian cocktail made from one part gin, one part vermouth rosso and one part Campari. The aperitif is stirred (not shaken), built over ice in a rocks glass and garnished with a slice of orange or with orange peel.
Despite the official Negroni Week being postponed to September, Truman & Orange is calling on South Africans to pay homage to the classic cocktail, and SA’s bartenders and mixologists, throughout the month of June.

Truman & Orange will donate R10 per post to a Covid-19 relief fund for a local bar. It’s that simple. You can mix as many Negronis as you like; a donation will be made for each unique post.

Stir ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Strain into an Old Fashioned glass over fresh ice, garnish with orange peel and serve.
